About
As the Senior Software Engineer at BeamJobs, I work on the resume builder and our expanding suite of job search tools. If something's broken or behaving weirdly, there's a decent chance I'm already looking into it (because there's a decent chance I caused it!).
I studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rutgers University, then spent a couple of years teaching high school physics. When I decided to pivot into software, I went through a coding bootcamp to get the practical, hands-on skills my more theoretical degree hadn't covered. Turns out explaining Newton's laws to teenagers is surprisingly good preparation for understanding how AI systems "think" and how to instruct them effectively.
I'm based in Ithaca, New York, and have been part of the BeamJobs team for nearly two years. Outside of work, I play guitar and try to get out for runs when I can.

Favorite Beamjobs tool: Bullet point scorer flyout
Also known as the bullet point generator, releasing this tool was the first time we unlocked the AI assistant flow in a way that felt genuinely valuable to our users.
Highlights
Worst career move
I was a cashier at a grocery store throughout high school and most of college. My proudest (saddest?) achievement was memorizing nearly every fruit and vegetable PLU code. The seasonal citrus was the trickiest—never managed to get those locked in. This knowledge serves me to this day at the self-checkout, where I fly through no matter how much produce I’m buying.
Best career move
Pivoting into full-stack software engineering through a coding bootcamp. My ECE degree gave me strong fundamentals, but the bootcamp gave me the practical ability to actually build things. That combination opened up a career I genuinely love.
Memorable fact
I own more guitar effects pedals than I care to admit. I’ll only say that the number is in the triple digits, and there may or may not be a closet devoted to them in my home, in addition to the ones that are currently plugged in.
